Booker Baskets
- Betty Booker, my mother, and I loved to travel through the Appalachian mountains by car because we loved stopping at all the tourist attractions. The more bizarre, the better. (You don't see these anymore, because everyone speeds down south on I- 75.) The favorite thing that we collected at these odd establishments, was baskets. We loved finding the unusual basket as it would later serve as our memory when we would laugh about recalling these zany tourist traps. ( One was the Land of OZ, where everyone was dressed up as one of the characters! I remember only too well the scary, rickety cable ride over the Blue Ridge Mountains.)
Later my mother and I expanded our travels to worldwide adventures. The Booker Baskets are Hand Made in the villages of Morocco for Mudroom, using the indigenous, renewable and natural fibers, purchased by the basket weavers at through government sponsored cooperatives.
Our styles include the classic market basket, a collecting basket and even a bicycle and backpack basket.
